Etsy Obsessing

You know those times when you rediscover an online webstore that you have neglected over time? Well, this has happened to me recently. In this case said wonderful place of online treasures being Etsy. And man oh man have I taken this obsession to new levels [See Coriumi]... I'm currently lounging around, eagerly awaiting the arrival of yet ANOTHER little clutch bag.
That little beauty up there though, comes from an Australian screen printer, working out of her kitchen handmaking little goodies for all to enjoy. Her company is called Do A Bit, and you can find her shit here here.

A Quickie Before Work

Vintage velvet blazer, I.D.S top, Asos pants, Russell & Bromley brogues, Vintage handbag, Kenneth Jay Jane necklace and Mikey ring

It's been a while since I did a little outfit post on my here blog so I thought when better to get my mug up than in celebration of my new, and quite glorious I feel, ASOS pants. If you'll excuse Mr Smith and I's (for now) very neglected courtyard.
The jewels I received from home (along with my beloved DianaF+, yeeoww!) at the beginning of the week. There is no better way to brighten up a boring Monday than by being reunited with your treasures after 2 years. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Feeling Fringey

I am not particularly shy when it comes to putting on an item of clothing which will gain a few backwards glances and generally repel the opposite sex. But it took me OVER TWO YEARS to grow the stones to wear this little gem by Manoush, I never thought a little bit of fringed linen and kinda ethnic neon stitching would have me quaking in my boots. But if ever there was an occasion to strap on my lady balls, my very good (and tall) friend Tania’s birthday was it. Yes, I got a few looks walking down the street when it was still light at 6pm, but on the whole it was a, quite surprisingly, very positive response.  Yippee ki-yay motherlickers.
Next time... A Sunday afternoon stroll down Chapel St.  Help me god.

So this is a little late I’m not gonna lie (blame moving house and internet connection issues). But here is my photographic recap of some of my favourite looks from the second designer series runway at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Featuring Arthur Gallan AG, above., Carly Hunter Label,  Alice Euphemia, LIFEwithBIRD, Jayson Brunsdon, YB J'aime by Yeojin Bae, Manning Cartel & Thurley.

Safe to say my favourite of the night was LIFEwithBIRD. Why? (THAT PLAYSUIT) Well, their pastel palette and choice of soft, delicate prints was beauteous and the laid back silhouettes were definitely a look I want to take into this upcoming Summer. I have a bit of a bad habit in this here Australian climate for ditching my “good” clothes in favour of anything cotton which will keep me cool in 35+ degrees. NOT THIS YEAR.

Coriumi

Oh Frankie magazine how I love you and your hot tips. This time, they led me to a little accessory brand called Coriumi and holy spamoly do they have some treasures. After a painstakingly long amount of time on their Etsy page, I settled on this bad boy and I could not be happier with it, grey suede CHECK, pink almost neon screen printed pattern CHECK. I love you little bag.
You can find their Etsy page at www.etsy.com/shop/coriumi, and if they weren't away on holiday you could be sure I'd be making my second purchase right about... Now.

D.I.WHY?

Because it's fun, silly.
Decided on a whim last week that before I up and move, I HAD to do something about my (f)ugly dining table/chair combo (dark brown wood and pale pink cushions = spew). So, as I am an impatient little soul, I went and bought myself some paint the next day and coincidently enough, stumbled upon a link to the one of the worlds most acclaimed vintage fabric stores (and it based in Melbourne, winner!). A hours work later and WAAAA-LAAA! I am very proud of my little project and cannot wait to set them up under our corner window. Beaut!
P.S http://www.vintagefabrics.com.au/ is where you should head to have a peek at all those dreamy fabrics. You won't regret it.
