WANG WANTS

Alexander Wang is without a doubt one of my favourite designers of the moment (ok, ok, I've had a bit of a love affair for a while now). Simple but stunning pieces you can mix and match with each other, as well as your probably more colourful items, always get big ticks in my books. What is unfortunately not so much of a big tick... the price point. God damn those price points. God damn them to hell. But I digress.

I don't know about anyone else but I am very much feeling this whole "monochrome" thing right now. Don't get me wrong though, if I can't got monochrome, I will happily transition to white and nothing but white.  I feel like this has something to do with an impending winter but perhaps it just means I am over dressing like a colourful hobo? I'll never know.

Regardless, I just spent the past few hours trawling through Green With Envy's website for some imaginary purchases. Fun. Fun but oh so painful.  Clockwise from top left we have the dumbo clutch, classic white tee, nadine ankle boot (you'll also notice this shoes taller sister a few posts down, what can I say? Obsessed - sure, I'll take it) and THOSE low rise cropped jeans

The day I'm rich is going to be a very good day indeed.

FRIDAY FUNDAY

If shopping is happiness then happiness is today.

Yes, this afternoons purchases courtesy of Topshop, Bardot and Green with Envy. For further details... (L-R) Topshop metallic sweater (two things, firstly, technically this was actually a gift from my mother and secondly, if you want to spend around double for the same thing, head to Mossman), Bardot gold collar, Secret South sweater, Topshop pants (matching tunic here) and top.

Happy Friday indeed.

K-DUBZZZZZZ

Before you ask, yes, I had a wonderful birthday.

Enough about me. Say a big yellow (see what I did there?) to the latest addition to my sunglass collection, the beautiful Blue Moon's by Karen Walker. More exciting than anything else (perhaps?) is the realisation that I have finally broken Mr Smith into purchases he is quite adamantly against. Just me that cares? Wow, don't sugar coat it for me.

Below you will see an example of how I am now fashioning the space kid-cum-alien-cum-bug look and as such, thought it only appropriate to use this blurry (shit) photo. Enjoy!

Now that's all over with, you can buy these guys here. Go. Do it. I dare you.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE FOUR DAYS MAKES

Oh Net-A-Porter, how you have transformed an otherwise dull-ass Friday into the day my life became complete. Ok, that might be taking it a bit far. But I'm sure you'd feel the same elation which I currently am, had your new PVC & leather combined 3.1 Philip Lim clutch just arrived in the post.

Smith's judging eyes couldn't even wipe the dorky smile off my face. So here's to you, bag of (no) hidden treasures, we're about to start a wonderful life together.

View the rest of the collection here and here.

TREAT YO'SELF

to buy or not to buy?

To celebrate the fact I still have Christmas money on the 7th of Jan what do I do? That's right, blow 75% of it in one swift click of a button. Personally, I feel a plastic clutch is maybe not so much of a steal at 300 bucks, however, completely justified it to myself being that until a few weeks previously you would have to give up over 600 of your hard earned dollars for this baby.
I somehow feel Mr Smith is not going to be getting behind on my reasoning but hey, you can't win 'em all. And this bag is bomb-ass.

Fuck Yes To Flower Crowns.

With Spring Racing Carnival/Summer/Insert any old excuse here fast approaching, I found it 101% necessary to equip myself with some ruddy good flower crowns. Plural yes. Because one is just never enough. Especially when you stumble upon a nothing-short-of-glorious etsy store, based locally, with colour option after colour option. I had no choice, really.
Mr Smith was horrified, of course, but what does he know? I will wear the shit out of those little headpieces of love, even if it's just to prove how god damned glorious they are. So, here's to you Summer. And sauntering into you with a superbly flower adorned head.
PS You can find the above beauties, among many others, in this here Etsy store (see, I told you, addicted). I will warn you now though, that trying to pick just one is something you'll probably try to do for, oh, around two hours, just before you get the feeling that anymore intense comparisons will make your eyes pop right out your head and you have to give in and get two (or more, I won't judge). Connie, the designer, also has a wonderful little blog which can be seen here. Go have a gander.

Etsy Obsessing

You know those times when you rediscover an online webstore that you have neglected over time? Well, this has happened to me recently. In this case said wonderful place of online treasures being Etsy. And man oh man have I taken this obsession to new levels [See Coriumi]... I'm currently lounging around, eagerly awaiting the arrival of yet ANOTHER little clutch bag.
That little beauty up there though, comes from an Australian screen printer, working out of her kitchen handmaking little goodies for all to enjoy. Her company is called Do A Bit, and you can find her shit here here.

Coriumi

Oh Frankie magazine how I love you and your hot tips. This time, they led me to a little accessory brand called Coriumi and holy spamoly do they have some treasures. After a painstakingly long amount of time on their Etsy page, I settled on this bad boy and I could not be happier with it, grey suede CHECK, pink almost neon screen printed pattern CHECK. I love you little bag.
You can find their Etsy page at www.etsy.com/shop/coriumi, and if they weren't away on holiday you could be sure I'd be making my second purchase right about... Now.

Sunshine & Spectacles

Karen Walker Sunglasses, COS top.

Unlike today which is providing the streets of Melbourne with nothing but rain, rain and a little more rain/seriously hampering my chances of escaping the house for a hangover cure, it was blissfully sunny a few days ago (although still bloody FREEZING). So obviously I jumped at the opportunity to don my favourite specs (sorry Mr Ray Ban, I still love you). Total beauts from my NZ obsession/the wonderful Karen Walker.

God damn Summer better come back soon so these can be glued to my face again every day.

His name's Diego

Ahh, Alexander Wang. A girl's dream. And mine came in the form of a very tardy Christmas present from my wonderful parents back home. After much begging and pleading they agreed to ship it out to me and the minute I opened the box it was love at first sight. Firstly it was the smell of that beautiful cow that went into making my little Diego, then came the awe of the softness of it's touch and finally, the total lust over the countless golden studs. BEAUT! It was the beginning of a magnificent relationship.... Even though it weighs over 2kg. But hey, at least it'd make a good weapon.
