CHRISTMAS JEWEL-ING

Here, you will see a small selection of the jewellery I received for the now, dearly departed, Christmas (ba hum bug).

I somehow managed to acquire (not 1, not 2 but) 5 new necklaces over the course of 12 hours and this, you can imagine, instigated quite the conundrum when faced with the old 'what to wear to Christmas lunch' fiasco. It was a long morning of annoying Mr Smith I'll tell you that right now.

And on a side note, in the spirit of Christmas and blogging (do I even have any readers? Probably not), these photos represent nothing I chose on the day. You'll have to stay tuned for the impending appearance of the other newbies (see what I did there?).

From top to bottom: Pucci Bracelet, Kenneth Jay Kane Ring & Asos Necklace. From my parents and sister respectively.

SHIT FOR YO' FACE

I'll be the first to admit I have a terrible skin care routine. The only thing you're likely to catch me doing daily is moisturising after I shower (...if I shower). However, a short while ago, a light bulb when off in my little brain and I decided, with my 25th birthday looming next year, I had better start being more prepared for the inevitable loss of my youth and good looks (ha ha).

Anyway, I digress. My first encounter with Eve Lom's Moisturiser, or Creme Hydratante if you're feeling fancy, happened when I first came to Australia as I had decided that in setting out "back-packing", I deserved a fancy schmancy cream to douse my face with every night. Well, it didn't quite happen like that - I actually hated (with a capital H) the smell of this shit for months. So there it was in my make up case, gathering dust and feeling sorry for itself. Until one day, oh one day, I decided I no longer hated (with a capital H) it's smell and so forth began our love affair. And we lived happily ever after...

Until a couple of weeks ago I decided I should perhaps add a cleanser to my "regime", and so, I have. After conducting a little research (see here) which led me to conclude that, huzzah, Eve Lom's cleaner rates quite highly among those who actually take care of their faces. So, it was settled and I began the painstaking task of procurring the stuff at discount. As usual, eBay came through and my little package arrived today And with that, it's time to get soapy.

JUST ANOTHER CHRISTMAS POST

In what was my second pre-christmas dinner, or what I am now aptly calling "Good Shoes Day", here is some photographic evidence of the fun that can be had if you combine a bunch of friends, alcohol, a whole heap of meat, a football, some sunshine and some "bloody black" swans. Oh, and not forgetting the aforementioned footwear (before you ask, yes, I did indeed shamelessly include my own in this selection of shoe treats for your eyeballs).

I also decided to push the proverbial boat out and, finally, make use of my dad's (aka Steve's) beautiful filters. As you can see above, this is the look "fog 2" can provide you. Ahhh, the days before Instagram, hey?

PYJAMA PARTY

Asos Pyjama Set, Levis Denim, Asos Brogues & Black Sheep Necklace

I don't you about you, but I am a big (BIG) fan of ambiguous clothing. In this case, it's the oh so popular not-pjyamas-but-look-like-pyjamas matching set. Extreme comfort and bystander head scratching is definitely a (hashtag) winning look in my opinion.

On another note, are you digging the whole "headless chicken" look at the moment? I am.

Down below, you will see the necklace which has been glued to my person for the past couple months. A morrocan dream I'll say.

BECAUSE WHY WOULDN'T YOU

Buy a pair of shiny gold shoes? Shiny gold shoes that are actually boots. And are 75% off.

Safe to say these babies have not left my feet too much since they arrived last week, despite the fact they have given my usually hard to blister feet a total of 4 sites of intense pain. Spending the majority of yesterday evening complaining to Mr Smith about the pain was even worth it. For me anyway.

And on a side note, I really need to do something about those picture frames.

CHANEL + SCOTLAND = GENIUS

The number one question on my mind this week? Why the fuck did I not come back to the motherland for this years festive period. Not that I would have even had the chance to attend the Chanel Métiers d'Art show in Edinburgh, but still, it would have been fun to hang around and try to snap some of the beautiful people surrounding it.

The show itself... Man alive was that shit hot. With a massive nod to Scottish heritage I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride that Mr Lagerfeld chose not only this direction for the collection, but the also the historic Scottish location. Lace, tartan, embroidery and feathers (and bagpipes), what more could you ask for on a cold Monday in December.

And just for the sake of reppin' the home turf. Here is a photo of the Linlithgow Palace, the castle ruins in which the show took place in.

GUESS WHO'S BACK (BACK AGAIN)

Woah. So I kind of disappeared for while there. I wish I had an excuse, I don't. Oh well what can you do. Here is some shit I've been upto lately. Including, but not limited to, pretending I am a DJ (highly recommended activity, let me tell you), horse racing participation at Derby Day, seeing some bands, enjoying the start of summer, shoes, birthdays, OVERALLS, and even a wedding thrown in for good measure.
