Monday Morning

Nothing better than some purchasing to perk up your Monday morning! Couldn't resist this I.D.S zebra T from one of my favourite boutiques on Chapel St, Dorothy & Evelyn. Plus, it's orange. Which is always a winner.

Hair Chop

I bloody love getting my hair cut.

This is the second time my charming, funny and down right handsome friend Stuart (aka Stupot-slash-Stuballs) has done the honours and much like the first time I am so very happy with his work. We went for a change and lightened it back up a bit. Goodbye regrowth of my natural "mousey" locks. I mean really, who wants hair the colour of a mouse anyway?

It's Official...

Dromana Beach, Mornington, 26/2/12 & around 30 degrees. Bliss!

Winter in Australia sucks big hairy toes. Here I sit, another day where it has done nothing but rain, tucked up under a big blanket and with the heater on. Ok, it might not help that my apartment can only be compared to an ice box, but that's not the point.

In my opinion, the only time when winter is bearable is back home in bonny old Scotland, where everyone (ok, some of us) stay wrapped up in fur and EVERYWHERE has central heating or if you're lucky, even a nifty old fireplace.

So Melbourne, until you can grasp these basic winter essentials, gonna just bring back summer please?

Meet The Fam

Clockwise from top left - Canon 500D, Panasonic Lumix, Polariod 300, Canon Prima Zoom Mini, Konica EE-Matic Deluxe F

My lovely little collection. I came here with two and have gained three more. The Canon Prima was my first Aus photography purchase and for a teeny tiny $3 it was a total bargain! I've had so much fun getting back into analogue photography and this little number was a perfect first start. The other two newbies both came into my life only last week, the Polariod gifted to me by my beau. Although with the cost of film I will definitely be (trying) to use this one sparingly (seriously $20 for 10 pics is a bit lot steep in my books). The Konica I purchased on Ebay for $20, yet to put any film in it though, but if its beautiful leather camera case is anything to go by I reckon I got a goody!

Photos taken with Instagram, you can follow me (only if you want) on @lucyinch

I received these amazing Cokin filters (along with many more) from my Dad who doesn't use them anymore... Ok ok, I kind of bullied him into sending me them. Because as much as I love playing around in Photoshop I don't think anything is quite as fun as creating special photo effects in a more "natural" way. For now though, they will have to stay in their little box until my filter holder arrives. Hurry up post! I cannot wait to start snapping my sweet collection of dip-dyed & dreamy photos. Yum!

More White...

Check this beautiful white tee (see, I told you I have a white obsession) I ordered a few weeks ago from Pixie Market, my (BY FAR) favourite online store. Seriously, if I were a rich woman I would probably own at least 80% of their stock. Alas, I am not, so instead must settle for the odd under $50 present to myself. This I can deal with. For now.

Anyway, back to the topic. I love a simple white tee, and have collected a few in my time. So when I came across this one, naturally I had to have it. It has that perfect baggy/loose style I adore so much, and the addition of those gold studs down the sleeves just gives it that extra "wow" factor.

I wouldn't recommend carrying your heaviest shoulder bag when wearing it though. Ouch.

Sheer Shirts

Candela Shirt

Over the past few months I have built myself quite the little collection of fine shirts. This beast however may just sit at number 1 on my list. Not only for it's beautiful fit and wonderful sheer-ness, but it is also white (for some reason I own a LOT of white, ridiculous really considering my talent for spilling) and has the kind of  sleeves that dreams are made of, super wide and pleated with the biggest cuffs in all the land. How much did this beauty cost me? Oh YES... 8 whole dollars from the ever amazing, Savers.

Ahh Savers, I might just love you!

Sunshine & Spectacles

Karen Walker Sunglasses, COS top.

Unlike today which is providing the streets of Melbourne with nothing but rain, rain and a little more rain/seriously hampering my chances of escaping the house for a hangover cure, it was blissfully sunny a few days ago (although still bloody FREEZING). So obviously I jumped at the opportunity to don my favourite specs (sorry Mr Ray Ban, I still love you). Total beauts from my NZ obsession/the wonderful Karen Walker.

God damn Summer better come back soon so these can be glued to my face again every day.

His name's Diego

Ahh, Alexander Wang. A girl's dream. And mine came in the form of a very tardy Christmas present from my wonderful parents back home. After much begging and pleading they agreed to ship it out to me and the minute I opened the box it was love at first sight. Firstly it was the smell of that beautiful cow that went into making my little Diego, then came the awe of the softness of it's touch and finally, the total lust over the countless golden studs. BEAUT! It was the beginning of a magnificent relationship.... Even though it weighs over 2kg. But hey, at least it'd make a good weapon.

Last Night

Siricco leather jacket, Savers stripe top, American Apparel skirt, Savers locket, Mink collar, Alexander Wang bag, Gorman heels.

Don't ask me where these chunky woolen socks came from. Knowing my penchant for "borrowing" things from my family, they're probably my Dad's. Woops!

My outfit/attempt to stay warm when going out to meet an old friend for dinner last night, and by old I mean "Glasgow" old. I hadn't seen this stone fox for, ummmm, over 2 years now, so her 24 hour stop-over in Melbourne gave us the perfect opportunity to catch up. And what a catch up it was! Still as beautiful and crazy as ever, we had a bloody wonderful time in China town and I got to show her a little bit of my home. Well... As much as we could stand in the cold.

P.S Melbourne, why you gotta stop functioning on public holidays? FIX that.

Claypots

Finally we made it to Claypots restaurant in St Kilda! Although I'm not what you would call fish's biggest fan ,I've been wanting to try this joint for a while. The prices can get a little on the expensive side but since I am a firm believer in the old "sharing is caring" way of life, we decided to split what was a delicious cajun spiced Flathead. And wowee, it did not disappoint.

Good service, good food and (most importantly?) good wine. So I urge you, my fish eating friends, to give this place a visit. You won't regret it.

Stacked on Magazines

Urban Outfitters dress (worn as top), Mink Pink shorts, Vintage mink collar, Vintage belt, Black Sheep ring, Tony Bianco boots

I am ever so slightly (ok, a lot) in love with this mink collar I picked up at Camberwell Market a few weeks ago... Obviously because it's so warm and cosy... It had nothing to do with the $18 pricetag. Chaaa-ching! Bargain of the day, especially when you compared it to the $700 fur coats other gentlemen were pedalling. But not to me fine sir's! Although the seller did find it necessary to let me know how much this one is "actually worth". Whatever. It was already mine the moment I laid my grubby little fingers on it and started fantasising about all the outfits I could wear it with (answer: everything).

P.S Please excuse the fine mess which is my room. Some of us don't have the luxury of a photographer and have to suffice with a pile of magazines stacked on our beds. I'll try better next time.

I Read Words

Junky by William S. Burroughs

I have a penchant major infatuation for books that portray a shit load of "sex, drugs & rock 'n' roll", it's like my dirty little not-so-secret. But what can I say, I like to live my wildest dreams through 60's musicians.

So naturally upon picking up... Ok, ok stealing, a copy of "Junky" from my beau's bookshelf, I thought I would fall in love instantly. I mean, the clue's in the title. But oh baby was I left disappointed. Yes there was LOTS of detailed accounts of what it's like to take the baddest of the bad, and yes he is one of the greatest artists of our time, but for me it was definitely missing that "holy fuck how are they still alive!" factor. And that is what I look for in a book.

Yes it was interesting, yes it is still very relevant today. But I'd rather re-read the story of the Zeppelin "red snapper" incident any day.

Snakes in the Grass

Shoes by Nobrand, Socks by Fat

How amazing are these shoes, right? A surprise gift from Mumma Bear a few months ago, I only JUST plucked up the courage to wear them. What? Snakeskin (real or faux) and the colour green don't tend to infiltrate my wardrobe too often. But boy am I glad they did this time! I mean, why have ordinary, run of the mill shoes on when walking your pooch when you can choose to blend in with the grass?

Hello

I am wearing: Vintage paisley shirt from Ebay, Jeans by Cheap Monday, Suede boots by Tony Bianco, Socks by Gorman, Vintage leather belt stolen from my Dad, Short pendant by Karen Walker, Long clock pendant gifted to me by a wonderful friend, Semi-Precious ring from Black Sheep (right hand), All other rings sourced from all over, Neon nail polish by Gorman's "Talons" range.

I had this whole "thing" typed up for my first post. It was boring. So I'll keep it simple, this is me.
