DIY; The New Dip-Dye

Last week I got an idea from wonderful blog A Pair And A Spare. What was your idea you ask? Well, dip-dyed chairs that's what I say. Mr Smith and I had two stools sitting in the garage gathering dust, so off I set to my nearest paint store in search for some colour inspiration.

The whole process is pretty simple (after you've wasted half a day trying to choose your shades).

Step one & two & three. Take one ugly-ass chair or stool, whichever floats your boat, and measure where you'd like the paint to stop. Carefully, and as straight as possible, pencil said paint stopping spot on each leg.

Step 4. With masking tape, follow the pencil marks on each leg, creating a barrier to stop the paint dripping.

Step 5. Grab a clean sponge, one of those green bristly ones, and gently rub over the areas you'll be painting.

Step 6. PAINT AWAY to your hearts content. You may need an extra coat, depending on the colour of paint you chose.

Step 7. Stand back and marvel at how amazing you are.

Then maybe do another in a different colour. Shit will infact get wild. I'm not lying.
